This might be alarming news for you but don’t panic or feel scared because it’s not too late. You can always follow a routine to keep all kinds of bacteria at bay. As long as you are aware and know how important it is to keep your tools and yourself clean, this routine or tips will just be like a piece of cake to follow. Below we have shared with you five different ways that can help you keep your makeup and kits away from bacteria at all times.

5 ways to keep your products clean

No more mascara after three months
Just like any food item or medicine has a life, your beauty products also come with a life span and once that period is over, it is highly dangerous to use those products after that, irrespective of how expensive they were. Mascara is that one product which almost every woman applies at least twice a week. It is far more popular than an eyeliner but do you know that your mascara doesn’t live for more than three months. It is highly advisable to replace your old mascara with a new one once it has crossed three months. The last bit of mascara that’s left must not be pumped out because the air that gets in after pumping can form the dark and dry ground for germs. Throw your mascara away and buy a new one. It’s as easy as that!

Wipe your lips before you reapply your lipstick
So it’s a very common habit of most women to reapply their lipstick after they have had food. Although, it’s a nice habit because lips with lipstick removed here and there, isn’t a nice thing to look at but do you know that the lipstick you apply gets mixed with all the food particles from your lips and settles down in the lipstick left. Pushing food particles on your expensive rouge isn’t what you want, right? Just to avoid that, make sure you wipe off your lips properly and clean them with a remover before you reapply your lipstick.

Clean your brushes after every use
Cleaning your makeup brushes doesn’t take long but the harm they can provide if not cleaned can take very long to heal. Make a habit of cleaning your makeup brushes every week. Fill a bowl with clean water. Add in some baby shampoo and mix the water. First, clean the brushes with tap water and then put them inside the bowl of shampoo mixture. Leave your brushes in the bowl for a few hours. Take them out after a while and clean with some rap water again. Leave them to dry so that you can use them again.

Separate all your makeup brushes according to their use
Experts always recommend using separate brushes for different tasks. For example, it’s not advised to use a highlighter brush for putting on both highlighter and blush-on. Similarly, if you have different palettes of eye shadows, you should use separate brushes for each palette to avoid bacteria from one palette to get into the other. Although, this is the right thing to do but it can be highly expensive to buy so many brushes when you now have multitasking brushes available to do a cost-effective job. If you own multi-tasking brushes, then make sure to be careful with them when it comes to cleaning. Try to clean them before you switch products or you can use your clean fingers to do your job as well.

Your makeup bag must always be cleaned
Our makeup bags are home to different makeup items we own and use. Cleaning makeup tools but not cleaning the bag that the tools are going to be kept into is like cleaning ourselves but keeping the house we live and eat in, dirty and filthy. In short, it is very important to wipe off all the unnecessary foundation, concealer or mascara that’s got in your makeup bag. Put your bag in a washing machine at least twice a month for a good wash. You can also dip a cotton ball in a mixture of dettol and water and wipe off all the filth from the bag. This will keep the bag sterilized for a month at least.

Cleaning your things won’t harm you. It will just take away a short time from your bush routine but it can save you from so many harmful infections. If you have understood what we have tried to explain in this blog, go right now and get on a fun cleaning spree.
